Elephant Butte resevoir is New Mexico's largest body of water. It is over 65 miles long, and located on the Rio Grande near Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. The lake is named after the Butte that sticks out of the water near the dam. Some say it looks like an elephant.

Elephant Butte is also a great place for Striped Bass Fishing.
